The Foundation Kunsthaus collection Biel-Bienne was established in 1991 and owns the collection. The collection is conserved by the Kunsthaus Biel and is available to the Kunsthaus for exhibitions and loans. The Acquisitions Committee decides on purchases and accepts donations.
The collection
The Kunsthaus has a collection of around 2’000 important works by regional, national and international artists. The focus is on contemporary art, in particular works by artists who have exhibited at the Kunsthaus. Works from the collection are regularly on display in the rooms of the Kunsthaus.

The collection also includes the entire estate of the painter and draughtsman Bruno Meier (CH 1905–1967). The artists Heinz-Peter Kohler (Biel) and Martin Ziegelmüller (Vinelz) have donated a large part of their graphic works to the Foundation.

Patrons
With their generous support, patrons make an important contribution to the acquisition of new works of art and thus to the visibility of the collection. Become a patron with a contribution of CHF 1’000.– or more and benefit from exclusive guided tours and all Kunsthaus events. You will receive two annual tickets, which entitle you to free admission to the Kunsthaus, and will attend the annual patrons’ dinner at the Kunsthaus.
